Xenia is a highly experienced harpist, she originally trained as a classical musician before branching out into collaborations with theatre companies, wellbeing projects, Early Years, world music and education work.

She studied harp, piano and singing before going to Dartington College where for four years, she trained as an actor, dancer, writer and director, using her musical background to inform her work. Following her training, Xenia worked in theatre, devising and performing work with and for young people as well being involved in medium scale and commercial touring.

She produces the Sanctuary Space at Folk East, programming acoustic performances, wellbeing workshops and workshops to develop singing and instrumental skills. She is active in the Arts and Health network, and is currently developing new programmes to take her work online.

Xenia performs with Hattie Bennett (cello) and Emily Bennett (violin) in StringFillies, curating music from different traditions and creating new music together for the Harp Trio. She has recently been working in care settings, developing workshops with song, harp music and movement. She enjoys working in partnership with organisations to create and produce projects.

Since 2014 Xenia has been a fellow of the Royal Society of Arts. She was elected to the Executive Committee of the Musicians Union in 2018 and has been on the board of Trustees of Soundsense since January 2018.
